Reimagine Well Virtual Reality MRI/Radiation Room And Infusionarium
Make it fun. Make it familiar. Make them fearless.
Reduce sedation rates and anxiety for MRI & Radiation patients: The Reimagine Well system features fully explorable 3-D MRI and radiation room environments. In pre-procedure consultations, patients and family can “fly” around the procedure room using an Xbox controller, while clinicians educate and communicate to lower anxiety through the process. The patient, family, and caregiver can experience the sights and sounds of the procedure. If the patient is comfortable, they can transition to the VR headset for a completely immersive first-person point of view.
The foundational proof of concept study at Nebraska Medicine showed that with robust VR technology and Child Life intervention, 8 out of 33 patients completed radiation therapy without anesthesia, and the ‘mean’ age of sedation was reduced from 10 to 3. With reduced sedation, over 66 procedure hours were saved, making the rooms available for an additional 275 treatments.
- Distraction Therapy for procedures: The Infusionarium Platform has a library of over 40 cinematic and educational experiences patients can view during infusion, dialysis, or any other procedure. Each of these videos have been requested via Patient Survey and range from swimming with dolphins, to flying without wings, getting a personal tour of the International Space Station, to petting puppies and kitties. This library can be accessed by any internet-enabled screen, so patients can view these programs on a tablet at their bedside, in your facility’s current infusion rooms, waiting rooms, or in a customized Immersive Healing Environment built by Reimagine Well.
- Online support network: The Reimagine Well Support Network is an unmonetized social platform that patients and caregivers can use to connect with others during and after treatment. Users can create a profile to set and achieve their health goals by building a community and gaining support from their peers. Avid writers can use the public blog to post “Tips 4 Life,” and tag them so others can find tips relevant to their situation. This forum is curated by medical experts and is not tracked by other social media websites or search engines, so the information shared is never used publicly or monetized in any way.
