This week Sony released the new Vita Slim, officially known as the Vita PCH-2000. Fully Loaded Electronics now offers the Slim Vita for all our Vita bundles!
How’s the new Vita Slim different from the old model?
To start with, the new Vita Slim is lighter, thinner and more ergonomically shaped. I always found the original Vita too large and heavy in my hands. I had trouble reaching the center of the touch-screen with my thumbs without losing my grip on the bulky unit. The Vita Slim is much easier to handle for children and those of us with smaller hands. I can’t say enough about how much I love the new feel of the Vita Slim.
In more good news, the battery has been improved. Now you can enjoy 4 to 6 hours of play between charges.
The other changes to the Vita are minimal – they lost the silver detailing, some buttons are a little bigger, and there’s a more texturized material on the rear grip pads to better prevent slippage. The Vita Slim still has Wifi and wireless internet can be utilized anywhere there’s a hot spot.Wireless 3G coverage is no longer an option with the Slim, but the vast majority of FLE customers were not interested in the 3G functionality anyway since it would require a data plan with your wireless carrier.
